Oil price, IOG, Southern, Angus, Afentra, UOG, Hurricane. And finally…

Oil drifted as the greenback rose, Chinese data though is picking up...Today IOG have some operational problems, nothing that hasnt been seen before though. Southern Energy release full year results, nothing to add to recent updates but holding back some production until prices rise again. Angus gave a brief update but all appears well at Saltfleetby whilst Afentra are looking good in Angola with things on the move there. Finally Hurricane updated, Prax still waiting there and UOG confirmed yesterday about extending their own long-stop date.

Oil was firm yesterday with the Turkey pipeline keeping 400/- b/d off the market. Today Genel add to the detail of that shut-in at local level. Kistos update the market on Benriach and the Netherlands and Arrow publish year end reserves data. Southern have also released a great deal of data as they throttle back the drilling programme in the current low natural gas price environment. Coro update on Asia and Predator confirm details of the raise.

The 2023 Bucket List is published today, five companies are leaving one way or another and three are joining the group. The Oil and Gas prices both showed consistency in being virtually unchanged on the year although the prices changed at different times during it, see the charts. Oil is under pressure as China battles with Covid, so far losing the battle despite the 'magic weapon' of zero tolerance. Southern Energy has reported a good set of figures with much excitement to come. Kistos is pursuing a scheme of arrangement in order to restructure and be able to pay out to shareholders. A new CEO on the way at Petrofac and a positive update from Coro in Italy.

Oil price, Ithaca, Genel, GKP, Trinity, Southern. And finally…

Oil was very quiet yesterday unchanged on the day. Ithaca is returning to the London market and Genel and GKP announce KRG payments whilst Trinity complete the buy-back programme. Finally I get to meet with the management of Southern Energy Corp and have issued an initiation Target Price of 150p.

Oil price, CEG, GKP, San Leon, Southern, Lamprell. And finally…

Oil fell again after Jerome Powell of the Fed admitted that they may have misjudged inflation leading to a possible recession in the US. What a surprise and those clowns at the ECB and the Bank of England are no better. I have discovered that CEG may be sitting on a windfall by way of its crafty pick up of acreage in Uruguay, Shell and Apache have turned up as new neighbours...Gulf Keystone update shows just how much cash it's throwing off and San Leon are persevering with the Nigerian paperwork which should be highly rewarding. Southern Energy have raised $31m, more than expected and Lamprell find themselves in another fine mess.
