Oil has rallied again and should end up on the week after the malarkey of recent falls. Today is the virtual Jackson Hole symposium where the taper will be discussed. Tropical storm IDA might become a Cat 3 hurricane as it skirts Mexico and China is boosting the economy. Good solid results from PetroTal, a very good long term outlook, IOG are getting closer to first gas just when prices are at their highs and Helium One drills a duster and cancels well three in this programme. Finally a solid recovery from Hunting as one would expect and a good update from Echo who are increasing liquids production.
Oil held up modestly last week and is a touch better this morning, the Iranian election brought in a hardliner with a big majority in very low turnout. Predator has spudded the MOU-1 well in Morocco and Echo has good operational news from Argentina whilst Helium 1 has spotted helium in the drilling mud. Reabold has an extension at Parta and Trinity complete their share consolidation.
Oil is up again today as buyers realise just how big a week it is, Iranian elections upcoming, the Putin-Biden talks, the Fed meeting and the IEA volte face. Shell consider a sale of $10bn of Permian assets and Scirocco have made moves into the sustainable area while Challenger update on Saffron-2. Sound have done a very smart deal in Morocco and Helium One Global have started the drill bit spinning.
Oil is better again today after OK API stats after the close and a rally at the death last night. Genel announces KRG payments, Challenger spud at Saffron-2, UJO/Egdon and Europa have permitting at Wressle. President update from Argentina and Paraguay and I interview David Minchin, CEO of Helium One Global.
After the inflation worries on the street the dollar rose and oil has dipped today after another rise yesterday. The KRG has tinkered with the payment schedule, Genel remain very robust and of course the payment has only been deferred. GKP were also affected but have little to grumble about after declaring another $25m of divvi just today. Angus have finalised their Saltfleetby finance and Helium One have their EIA. A solid statement from IGas with geothermal back in the frame and Touchstone have Q1 results.
Oil continues to rise, up over a dollar and change this morning. US and Chinese economic data is trumping virus worries now and the US is opening up. Today Zephyr have a very positive statement out with revenue already coming through, Far has announced a new CFO in July and Helium One completes 2D seismic. Trinity have made an onshore acquisition and SDX kick off the Moroccan drilling campaign.
Oil remains strong on the back of positive economic data from the US and China. President has further good news from Argentina and Helium One has raised £10m at 10p.
