The Opec+ deal takes the stage although huge quantities of oil in the physical market is in control at the moment. DGO has pulled off another cracking securitised financial arrangement making the structure look very solid indeed. Oil price, Rockhopper, DGO, SDX, Wentworth

Oil prices vacillated ahead of the Opec+ meeting tomorrow but the EIA STEO yesterday showed yet again lower demand numbers and the US going back to being a net importer this year. Rockhopper showed a good set of figures with further strong cost cutting and the Navitas deal validating Sea Lion. DGO have made an acquisition just as expected in these markets, accretive returns will 'validate' the dividend. SDX have a discovery in Egypt and Wentworth has comforted the market with regard to its 2019 results.

Oil price, RockRose, DGO, JOG, Petrofac

While down around a dollar this morning as the Opec+ meeting is moved to Thursday there is still optimism that a deal will be done. RockRose has leapt out of the starting stalls to release 2019 results as soon as the FCA allow. DGO are looking very smart after not being badly affected by the virus or the hydrocarbon prices. JOG have hired a legend formerly of Shell to help with the GBA which is good and Petrofac have swung the axe like others in the industry.

Oil price, DGO, GKP, Ascent Resources, Petro Matad And finally…

A slight, hardly noticeable pick up in crude prices as the US waits for its $2tn and the Saudi/US alliance....DGO has announced an extended Ohio asset agreement again demonstrating its commitment to its asset retirement programme. GKP has decided to suspend both dividend and share buy-backs as Shaikan expansion is stopped by the virus and lack of payments for its crude. Ascent has started the process of coming back to life with a potential move in to the Caribbean and Hispanic areas. Finally, delayed from yesterday a quick look at Petro Matad who have an update out.

Oil price, DGO, Far, Ascent, SDX – And finally…

The oil price will have done well to increase on the week in the face of the inscrutable Chinese virus as well as the 1H oversupply situation but Opec+ production cuts will help that. Today DGO announce a buy-back, on an 11% yield punters should follow, Far suffer at the hands of the Court of Arbitration but are set fair in West Africa. Ascent Resources, where shareholders have been crying out for restructuring have now got just that and SDX spud at South Disouq.

Oil price, Predator/CERP, JOG, DGO – And finally…

Oil and equities remain subdued whilst the population stays at home, literally. Predator and Columbus have successfully injected CO2 in Trinidad which could be most exciting for the future. JOG are doing a great job at the Greater Buchan Area having acquired Equinor's interest fora modest sum. They are putting a great team together here. DGO are trading in line with market expectations ahead of results in March.

Oil price, Echo, DGO, PetroTal, Touchstone – And finally…

Oil recovered yesterday after initially falling on an API report that showed a build in stocks, the subsequent EIA report showed a draw of 1.1m barrels and oil recovered to be roughly even on the day. Echo has announced that its rig is on the move and should be ready to drill the CLix-1001 well by the end of December. DGO has announced a new NED as well as announcing that the 2Q divvi will be paid on 20th December and a sterling equivalent of 2.65p a share. PetroTal has also appointed two new NED's after recently the Chairman of the Board moved to the non board position of CFO. And Touchstone announce that the Coho-1 well has produced well making it a red letter month for the company.

Oil price, Eco, DGO, Falcon, GKP, Reabold Resources – And finally…

Oil remains quiet after the Opec meeting probably for a little while or until trade talks falter... Eco Atlantic and JV partners are submitting the next exploration phase to the Government of Guyana but is overshadowed by Tullow's second profit warning yesterday. Ironically their acreage in Guyana is now probably the best in the portfolio and the company is bereft of CEO, Exploration director and of course dividends. DGO has announced a 3.5 cent dividend for the 3rd Q and Falcon are progressing well in the Beetaloo. Gulf Keystone has announced production numbers and the 55/- b/d has been slightly postponed but apart from that the outlook is good. Finally Reabold has commenced drilling at West Brentwood in California.

Oil price, Savannah, Amerisur, DGO – And finally…

Oil will end the week roughly as it started with nothing new in the price to change the basis. Savannah Petroleum has announced that the Seven Energy Transaction has now completed leaving them as a full cycle international E&P company listed in London. Amerisur has gone with a bid of 19.21p from Geopark which will surely be a disappointment but it is cash in the hand. I also look at DGO who have announced 3Q results showing a continued success of their acquisition model with some fine tuning.
